Brief Profile
From factory floors to boardrooms and townships, I've dedicated my life to building a better South Africa.
My Story:
- A Fresh Start in ’93: I traded a high-paying, private-sector artisan job for a lower-paying role helping prepare for our first democratic elections. (A smile here says it all!)
- Shaping Our Future: Following the 1994 elections, I served in the constitutional assembly, laying the groundwork for our democracy. Over the next 30 years, I’ve gained experience in the cabinet, local communities, and now Parliament.
- Public & Private Expertise: With 30+ years under my belt, I understand what works (and what doesn’t) in both sectors, learning from the best and worst practices.
- Leading Innovation: As Chief of Staff in the Ministry of Local Government and now acting Chief of Staff to the Acting Speaker of Parliament, I’m proud of the progress we’ve driven through innovative approaches.
Main Aim:
Kalk Bay: Together our Priority focus must and will be the Kalk Bay Fishing Community aimed at improving their economic well-being and living conditions. Our intention is to raise awareness, to begin collectively advocating for a Kalk Bay that reflects its true spirit – a place where tradition and tourism co-exist and the fishing community thrives and families have suitable homes.
Low Hanging Deliverable if we all work together:
- Food Security:
- A Robotics School in the South:
- Clean Neighbourhoods:
- Future World of Work:
“Alright, alright, alright! It’s Paul here. Look, let’s ditch the formalities. I’m calling on all you wonderful people – yes, even you in Ward 64 – to join me in building this glorious government of, uh… NATIONAL and WARD 64 UNITY! Seriously, what’s the worst that could happen? We build a utopia? Sounds like a win to me.”
